A high-ranking delegation from the Russian constituent autonomous republic of Tatarstan visited the headquarters of Schaeffler’s Industrial division in Schweinfurt. The purpose of the visit was to develop closer business relationships between Schaeffler and the Republic of Tatarstan. The president of Russia’s constituent republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, together with high-ranking officials from Tatarstan’s ministry of agriculture, made a visit to Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG at its Schweinfurt location as part of their tour of Germany. Dietmar Heinrich, CEO Europe, and Prof. Rainer Lindner, CEO Central and Eastern Europe, were there to welcome the delegation. In addition to a tour of the plant given by Plant Manager Dr. Josef Scheller, items on the agenda also included the existing business relationships, new large-scale projects in the railway sector, and topics relating to agricultural engineering. President Minnikhanov and his delegation took the opportunity to find out about technological innovations from the Schaeffler Group. “Tatarstan offers excellent potential for automotive and industrial solutions from the Schaeffler Group”, said Dietmar Heinrich, CEO Europe. In 2015, the Russian autonomous republic was ranked first out of 90 regions based on the investment situation in Russia. Important customers in the region’s automotive sector are already supplied by Schaeffler. “A project is currently being planned to build a high-speed train connection between Moscow and the Tatar capital of Kazan, while the country’s agricultural engineering sector also provides further opportunities”, said Rainer Lindner during the meeting. Since the Tatar minister for agriculture and food also took part in the visit, accompanied by his deputy, Schaeffler had the opportunity to present the latest developments in this area. “Mobility for tomorrow” in the agriculture engineering sector Schaeffler’s Industrial division develops rolling bearings and power transmission solutions for bicycles and motorcycles as well as for rail vehicles and agricultural and construction machinery. Schaeffler offers bearing solutions for all types of drives, whether mechanical, electric, or hydraulic. The guests were visibly impressed by Schaeffler’s broad range of agricultural machinery solutions and their possible applications.
